Enhanced Site Security

John Sisk Construction is the largest general contracting company in Ireland, with turnover in excess of €500 million. They have offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Sligo and Waterford with construction sites across Ireland.

Sisk selected Advance Systems to supply the company with time and attendance software, TMS, and an access control system. Kathleen Flynn, TMS Administrator for John Sisk, explains the advantages of the new system: "The number of new on-site employees varies daily. I issue every new contractor and tradesman with a photo I.D swipe-card, which allows them access to the site from one of three turnstiles supplied by Advance Systems. Prior to the installation of Advance Systems' access control we had one security guard at the front entrance and there was no way of knowing who was on site at any particular time."

Easy to Calculate Hours Worked

"Every Monday morning an on-site report is run, this is then sent to the Contracts Manager and one to the Site agent and a copy to the Senior Engineer. Each month reports of hours in total are sent to each contractor, which is then sent to their respective payroll personnel. The same occurs with their staff, a printed time sheet is faxed to payroll, which is calculated from head office", Ms Flynn explains further. "Once the clockings appear on the system it is easy to calculate the hours worked, whereas previously I had time sheets which took much longer to calculate."

Health and Safety Monitoring

Health and Safety are key elements to the efficient running of site locations - every day there is a different amount of people on site to keep track of. TMS monitors this, and can provide accurate information of who is on site and where, either currently or based on past attendances. Each morning an on-and-off-site daily report is sent to the Safety Officer.

System is Simple to Use
